Imports from Windows Excvel into Mac

I've been struggling with the importing of Excel files from Windows
into a MAC environment. Initially, the file is recognised, opened OK.
Then I ammend & save in my iMAC.

Subsequent attempts to open ithe file are met with 'Unable to read
file'

Any suggestions (apart from the obvious one on Windows !)

Hi

I think JE McGimpsey was wondering *which* version of Excel for the Mac you
are using (there are at least 10 of them). Another helpful bit of
information would be what updates you have installed for that version of
Excel.

If you could post a follow-up message with that information it could give
some clues that might help someone offer additional suggestions.
