In Forms, want to use "Enter" to advance to next field instead of

Typically, when filling out forms, "enter" is used to complete the entry and
advance to the next field.

In Word 2002, although the document is protected, hitting "enter" just
inserts a paragraph return outside of the field, which messes up the Form's
format.

How do I get "Enter" to only advance to the next field once the document is
locked? I am using the "Forms" tool bar.

Thanks!

This has _never_ been typical behavior for Word.

What you are talking about is what Word calls an "online form." For more
about online forms, follow the links at
http://addbalance.com/word/wordwebresources.htm#Forms or
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Customization/FillinTheBlanks.htm especially Dian
Chapman's series of articles. The first link includes a link to instructions
on changing the function of the Enter key in Word online forms. You may also
want to look at http://www.word.mvps.org/FAQs/TblsFldsFms/LinesInForms.htm.

Hope this helps,
