In Word I'm having trouble accessing Outlook's addresses

A

April

I am in Microsoft Word. I click on the envelope to access the Outlook
address folder to create an envelope from an address in Outlook. My screen
locks up and MS Word shuts down telling me that Microsoft Word has
encountered a problem and needs to shut.....

Several months ago this aspect of MS Word worked until I signed on to
Stamps.com After that point (I have since quit Stamps.com and have purged it
from my system) I was never able to access my address folder again through MS
Word program. If anyone has the answer or more questions to help me solve
it, please, please write me at (e-mail address removed) Thank you!

I am having exactly the same problem except I do not use stamps.com.

Error Signature:
AppName: winword.exe
AppVer: 10.0.3416.0
ModName: schdmapi.dll
ModVer: 9.1.2318.0
Offset:00016abb

I go into create envelope/labels function, select envelope then try to
switch from Outlook address book to Contacts. I get the fatal error message
and it shuts Word down. The above is the information I got when I clicked the
link to tell me what information was being reported to Mircosoft when I chose
to report the error. Any ideas/thoughts would be most appreciated - its
driving me buggy, no pun intended.

Mine was already selected as the email client, so I renamed to old and ran
Word again - that fixed mine as well. Thanks so much.

Thanks.
You were my last hope obi-one-can do it.
I probably spent 8 hrs. on this. Even downloaded a new schdmapi.dll.
This worked.

I had the same problem but intermittently. I tried all the things posted
but since I wasn't having any problem with Word or Outlook, I did not want to
reload the apps or fool around with the dll. My problem went away if Outlook
was running.

Now I just leave Outlook running when I use Word. Don't know if this will
help you or not, but it was driving me crazy.
