inbox 'not responding'

Every time I open Outlook and go to my Inbox and click on
a new message, it appears Outlook tries to open it but
eventually come back with Outlook 'not responding' and I
have to shut Outlook down. I have a firewall and virus
program active.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Please help.

I and anothere user here had the same problem and it turned out to be a
"Rule" that I had set up to move mail from my Inbox to a personal folder.
Once I deleted the Rule, Outlook behaved. I am not sure what the problem
actually was, the Rule had been processing correctly for some time...but it
might be worth it to look at any rules you have running.
