Include Text field

I am creating forms in Word. I would like the user to fill out the first
"major" form, and then I would like certain repeating data (such as name,
address) to automatically fill in several relating forms. I am planning to
make the forms by using protected form fields because I need to have on exit
macros for some of the form fields.

I tried using the Include Text field in the relating forms but it does not
seem to bring in the bookmarked form fields for the first form. Does this
field not work in form fields? Is there a better approach to creating
several related forms that share the same data?

TIA

Hi Ricki,

It works... but the IncludeText field may not be updating when you expect it
to.

See if calling this macro to the AutoOpen, AutoNew or an Enter or Exit
formfield action helps:

Sub UpdateFieldInBookmark()
ActiveDocument.Bookmarks( _
"Text1").range.Fields(1).Update
End Sub

Where you need to update Text1 to the name of the bookmark you're referencing
in the IncludeText field.
