Incorrect behaviour of Office 2007 SP1 installer

Hello:

I installed Office 2007 and its updates in the following sequence on my
Windows Vista Home Premium:
1. Office 2007 Enterprise
2. Office 2007 SP1
3. Office Project Professional, Sharepoint Designer, and Visio 2007.

Now, I am facing a strange issue: Windows Update is frequently prompting me
to install a 197MB SP1 package for Office 2007. I downloaded the complete
Office 2007 SP1 package from another PC and tried installing it. It fails
with the message that the update is already applied on my system. But when I
check Help->About, only the applications installed in Step 1 have SP1
applied - the ones installed in Step 3 don't have it (which is probably why
Windows Update is prompting me to install SP1). I checked in Programs and
Features and there is no option to uninstall / reinstall SP1. Downloading
the 197MB package on that PC is not an option.

Could someone please help me out here?

Thanks in advance!
- Rajesh

OK ... I solved this one myself. I downloaded separate SP1 packages for the
three applications that didn't have it, and applied them individually. Now
the issue is solved. But the question still remains - Why did Windows Update
prompt me to download a single 197MB package, and when I downloaded the
package (it was the full Office SP1 package), it refused to install?

Thanks,
- Rajesh
