Index.htm or Index.html ????????

Hi

I've created a page with FP 2002, published it to Lycos (enabled my FP
settings)

All published OK but when you try and visit the page it says it's still
under constriction

In Lycos' help page it says the first page should always be saved as '
index.html'
I notice FP saved it as ' index.htm '

Is that wrong ?
Or is Lycos just taking ages to display my page

I would also appreciate links to any FrontPage sites that others have found
useful

Regards

Paul

what page is used as default is set up on the server.

In this case Lycos use index.html, you will need to change your index page
to index.html for it to view by just typing in your Domain name.

I'm getting there...
The lycos under construction page has gone - good, but instead of going
straight to my site, it now shows all the files including parent directory.
Clicking up the main phonepro file brings up the site

How can I get it to go straight to the site?

it looks like you have removed your index.html file from the server, which
is then publishing your list of documents, you need to rename your index.htm
to index.html and republish your site.

Your index page needs to have the extension 'html'
Open your index.htm page and save it as index.html and you
will be fine after you republish. All your other pages in
your website can have the 'htm' extension, just your
starting page needs to have the 'html' extension.
