Individualized email groups

Is it possible to 'broadcast' individualized emails to all the contacts in a
group?

Only with third-party software; see http://www.slipstick.com/addins/mail.htm#massmail

Better not to use distribution lists, but to keep only individual contacts, which you can use in a mail merge.
