InfoPath Form 2007 for Reuse

Debbie

InfoPath 2007 -- I ran through some instructions I found online and 'did' get
my form up, running. I was able to view it in InfoPath 2007 and after
changing my advance settings could also then view it in a web based broswer.

But - how do I set it so:

1. My forms repository (one for each department) has the departement forms
(in InfoPath)

2. Users can click on a form (and it will either open in InfoPath 2007 or a
Web-based browser)

3. Once Users fill out the form (either in InfoPath 2007 or the Web-based
browser) it saves a copy of what they filled out to the InfoPath Form
Services Database

4. BUT - the initial form they used, is still untouched in the departments
form repository.

We currently have a forms directory, which breaks down into departments.
There you have fillable .pdf and .doc forms. My goal is to recreate these in
InfoPath 2007, and keep the same type of structure, so it is not confusing.

But I am not sure if I have set it up so the 'copy' they use, goes to the
database upon submittal - and the one in the SharePoint site - that they
clicked on, remains unchanged.

Right now - I am going to do this as an Intranet, and hopefully it will save
under their name? (or do they rename it?).

I cannot find this information anywhere so I thought I would ask the experts.

Thank you for taking the time to assist.

Sincerely,
Deb :)

Hi Debbie.

That is quite a list.

Do you have your plan and documentation together of what you want to do?
It looks like how you are going to setup Sharepoint is the big key.

If you would like some help with your design and whether it will all work
you can email me here.
