insert autotext changes the font size

Why does the font size change when I insert an autotext entry? I have
designed most of the autotext entries at 10 point font, but when I insert the
autotext, the size grows to 1638 point

ouch! When I saw the subject, my thought was that the AutoText was created with
a particular style, and that the style definition in the target document was
overriding the original settings. This may still be possible, I suppose, but
unlikely? Or do you have a style of the same name (check the category of the
AutoText entry) in this document with a font size of 1638 pt?

If not, then I suspect we're looking at some kind of document corruption. Did
you save the AutoText in the default location (Normal.dot) or in a specific
template? Which version of Word?

Cindy, I found my error. The Style "PLAIN TEXT" in Normal.dot was somehow
modified to 1638 point, & when I inserted the Autotext as a Plain Text entry,
it grew & repagination went crazy. I think I solved it, thanks for the help.

Thanks for reporting back on this. Did you create this AutoText entry with the
"Plain Text" style applied? Because 1) There's currently no interface for
inserting AutoText without formatting and 2) I've never seen the feature apply
the style Plain Text. Just curious...

Message Format using "Word as my Email Editor" is HTML, Font Style &
formatting is PLAIN TEXT. Some are created using other styles & formating,
but the ones causing the trouble were created to be PLAIN TEXT because they
are "CANNED RESPONSES" I use in my emails replies.

Hope this answers your curiousity. Thanks for your help. Couldn't have
solved this without this Discussion Group.
