Insert key

Why is it that when I have the Insert key either on or off and open another
document the insert (OVR) becomes locked. This only happens when I'm opening
up more then one document. Is there a command that I must disable in Office
2003 to use the Insert key freely?

I've never seen this, nor have I heard of the behavior, before. Can you list the
exact steps you use to make this happen?

Are you certain that none of these documents contain a macro that might be
changing that key assignment?
