Insert menu missing "from scanner or camera" option

On the insert menu (applies to PP also) there is no option to insert picture from scanner or camera ?

any ideas most welcome thanks

Don't see it on my machine either. What makes you believe it should be
there expressed like that? I insert pictures, which originate from a
camera or scanner, by simply inserting the file which the camera or
scanner creates. This not work?

Hi Ian,

the Import from Scanner option, which was available in earlier versions of
Office, required the use of VBA, if I remember correctly; VBA got dropped in
Office 2008, so no Office application has this feature anymore. The best
workaround is the one Rob has given you: use the scan software that came
with your scanner or Image Capture (if it is a TWAIN scanner) to digitise
the picture, then insert the resulting picture file into your document or
presentation.

VBA will return in the next version of Mac Office, so the Import from
Scanner feature might reappear again, but nobody really knows (and those who
do are not allowed to tell).
