Inserting jpeg into Publisher

When I try to insert a picture from file in Publisher, I receive message that
"Publisher cannot convert this picture".

I have re installed Publisher 2000 and downloaded the updates from
Microsoft. Still can't insert picture.

I think I have a corrupted file but removing Publisher and re installing
does not correct it.

Any suggestions?

Maybe the filter is corrupt. Have you tried other jpg's?
If you think it is the graphic filter, you can replace it. Reinstalling doesn't mean
the filters are overwritten.
The graphic filters are in a folder similar to this:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Grphflt
Rename the JPEGIM32.FLT to JPEGIM32.old. Find the filter on your setup disk and drag
it to the Grphflt folder.
