Inserting "notes to pages nn to nn" in endnote page headers

Is there any way of inserting "notes to pages 32 to 55" in the header
for the endnote pages (where the first endnote that appears on the page
occurs in the text at page 32 and the last to appear on the page occurs
in the text at page 55)?

1. Is there any way to do this without writing VBA code to do it?

2. If the answer to 1 is no, does anyone have some sample VBA code to
do this?

Thanks!

You should be able to do this without a macro

1. Position the insertion point in the paragraph just before the endnotes
2. Insert/Break and choose the type "Next page". This will put the endnotes
in their own section, starting on a new page
3. make sure you're on this page, then View/Header and Footer. You should
see you're in the section for the endnotes (if it's the only section in the
document, you should see "Section 2").
4. In the Header/Footer toolbar, locate the button "Same as Previous" and
make sure it is OFF.
5. Now you can type the text in the header

Thanks for this. But this will only allow me to enter text in the
header--not cross-references to page numbers corresponding to the page
in main text of the first endnote on each endnote page and the page in
main text of the last endnote on the current endnote page.

Say, for example that:
1. the first endnote page has notes 1 to 20 and note 1 occurs on page 3
while note 20 occurs on page 62 and
2. the second endnote page has notes 21 to 35 and note 21 occurs on
page 65 while note 35 occurs on page 88.

The header for the first endnote page should read "Notes for pages 1
through 20" and that for the second endnote page should read "Notes for
pages 65 through 88." Most importantly, the header cross-references to
the main text pages of the first and last endnote on the page should
adjust themselves as text and endnotes are edited.
