Inserting symbols

Everytime i try to insert a symbol in Office XP's Word app. the program crashes. This is one sure way that i can cause MS word to crash. I have tried re-installin Office XP several time. BTW will installin office to another installing folder other than the default affect the programs associated w/ in adversly.

Have you applied the latest Service Pack and Patches for Office XP?

This could be a symptom of a damaged printer driver or font. Try deleting
the printer and reinstalling it, preferably with an update driver from the
manufacturer's Web site.
