Inserting Symbols

In Office 2004 Standard when inserting symbols in Word I sometimes get
an empty box displayed? However the same symbol when inserted into
PowerPoint appears as expected? Has any one seen this problem? Is there
a solution? Any help much appreciated, Chris.

My Take Control ebook discusses this in excruciating detail, but the
short version is: Use the Character Palette (not the Symbol font!) to
insert symbols and you'll be fine. The idea is that is now Unicode, the
program is Unicode-savvy, and so *you* need to be Unicode-savvy. m.
