Install office 2007 on top of Office 2003?

I am currently running Office 2003. I plan to upgrade to 2007. Should I
just do the install on top of 2003 (I don't want them running side by side),
or is necessary (better) to uninstall office 2003 before installing 2007?

Is there a white paper on this somewhere?

You cannot have both running. When you are ready to download or add it, there
should be a prompt that asks you if you have an earlier version.

WRONG
You can install both at the same time except that you can't have two
versions of Outlook

In fact, you can install Office 95, 97, 2000, XP, 2003 and 2007 all at
the same time.

How can you run two versions of Office at the same time? I have Office
2003 Pro but I have the Ofiice 2007 Student Ed DVDs, can I have them
running toghether? How?

In your case, you probably can't, because the Office 2007 Home and
Student Edition's Software License Terms prohibit your using the
software for any commercial, non-profit, or revenue-generating business
activities.
