Installation question - 2000 on top of 2003?

B. Chernick

Is it possible to install Project 2000 on a machine that already has Project
2003 (and most of Office 2003) installed?

And if so, are there any risks or potential problems?

You can have both, but if you install Project 2000 second you need to
re-install 2003 afterwards. You may get some clashes with Global.mpt files,
but I used to have both without problems.

Hi B. Chernick,

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup :)

I installed 2000 first and then 2003 and they both seem to work OK.
However, I cannot guarantee you won't have problems based on the differences
in development between the two versions. I would uninstall 2004 first,
though. Better if you can install in different partitions.

Hope this helps - please let us know how you get on :)
