I'm having problems running Access (2002, XP Pro,
laptop). Specifically, my forms do not seem to be
accessing tables correctly and command buttons (including
in the Access Wizards) do not work.
Every time I open it the Installing components for
Microsoft Access dialog box pops up stating:
Installing Access Feature dialog pops up and the hard
drive chugs for a little bit. It does not report what
feature it is trying to install.
If I try to open an existing database app, the splash
screen opens with #Name? showing up in a text box field
and then an error message pops up stating:
-------------------------------------------------------
The expression On Timer you entered as the event property
setting produced the following error:
Error in Loading DLL
* The expression may not result in the name of a macro,
the name of a user-defined function, or [Event Procedure].
* There may have been an error evaluating the function,
event, or macro.
--------------------------------------------------------
If I bypass the splash screen and open the main menu form
manually, I get a similar message whenever I click on a
button.
If I start from an empty database and try to put a button
on any empty form, the Command Button Wizard will not
update the Actions list when I click on items in the
Categories list. Also, the command buttons do not work,
so I have to use Alt-F4 to exit the wizard. When I then
try to close the form, the buttons in the Save box do
work, so it looks like the problem is limited to VBA.
I've uninstalled Office and then reinstalled, but it has
not fixed the problem.
Any ideas?
