Installing Business Contact Manager for Office 2003

John

Am having repeated trouble trying to install the business
contact manager that comes with Office 2003. Message is:
Setup failed to configure server...... what server????
Have checked Event log and get Event ID 1013 (just for
one) - no support on knowledge base..... really helps!!!!

Are we referring to SQL Server or what????

Can anyone offer a solution - would appreciate it!!!

Thanks in advance....

Are you trying to run this against an Exchange profile or a .pst?

I'm not sure what you mean..... I re installed oem
version with typical set up option having reformatted a
brand new Dell Inspiron............. The office suite
installed apparently witout a hitch........ Imported ail
and contacts from store directory on N/W.....

I then went to install the Business Contact Manager which
you cannot do until after you have installed and
presumably configured Outlook which I did.....

It was in the middle of the installation when I am met
with the all too familiar Microsoft splash screen
advising me ...could not find server............eh?????
wht server???? can't even install the MSDE from folder on
disc one as apparently there is now something called a
hard password whatever that is that blocks the
installation.......

Microsoft are touting this as the easiest office version
to insteall yet.............. now where have we heard
that one before?????

Meanwhile still cannot install either Contact Manager or
MSDE!!!!
