Installing Microsoft Office on more than one computer

S

Seraj A.S.

I have bought two new computers, one which is a desktop computer, and the
other is a notebook. They both have a 60 day trial of Microsoft office 2003.
To activate the real full version, you need to buy this product from
Microsoft.
My question is, do I need to buy two copies of this product? Or can I buy
only one, and use it to install Microsoft office 2003 on both of my computers?

Seraj A.S.,
Refer here for end user license agreements:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/eula/en.mspx
See the section on pre-installed trial versions.
Retail copies of Office have different eula's. You may want to research that
section as well. As an example, the Pro version allows for 1 desktop and one
mobile device, Student Teacher allows for 3 installations.

Chris,

Thanks for that info. I purchased Office 2003 Small Biz Edition and
according to my EULA, I can install Office 2003 on my desk top and my new lap
top.

My question has to do with the activation. If I activate Office on my
desk-top after installation, will that make it uninstallable for my lap top.

What is the process of activiation / installation when installing Office
2003 on a desk top and the portable device?

I have the new desk top now with the lab top coming next week.

Any assistance is much appreciated.

All the Best
Karl

Karl S,
Key words in the eula are:
"install and use", "on one personal compuer or other device", "second
portable for the excusive use of the primary", since you are the primary
user, your license grants you use (activation) of the software on a second
portable device.
You should see the same product activation wizard when you install and use
Office on your laptop.
