Installing MS Office PE 2003

Hubie

I have MS Office 2003 Standard Edition for Student and Teachers SP2 currently
installed on my laptop. A Microsoft Sales Manager gave me MS Office
Professional Edition 2003. Can I just install the Professional Edition over
the Standard Edition, or do I have to delete the Standard Edition first?

If I have to delete the Standard Edition do I have to copy any current
Office documents to a disc first or will they remain on the computer?

Thanks,
Hubie

Is it a "Trial Version" you were given?

No, it is a full regular version with all the bells and whistles. (Access,
Excel, FrontPage, InfoPath, etc.) It also has a CD with OneNote 2003.

Hi Hubie,

When doing a crossgrade (different editions of same version)
it's generally advisable to backup your files, uninstall the
old edition, restart the PC then install from the new CD.

It can prevent some odd issues from happening later.

FWIW, FrontPage is a standalone Office 2003 app. It's not
included in any of the Office Edition packages.

Thanks for the help. I backed up my files, uninstalled Office 2003 Student
and Teachers Edition and installed Office PE 2003.
