Installing New Fonts

I am looking for a Western font, have found samples and downloaded. WinZip
is doing the import. When I go to the folder that contains the saved file
from WinZip, and open, it contains only sample fonts. In addition, when I
navigate to "control panel", "fonts", "file", "install new font", there are
no font files to install. Either I am not extracting properly from WinZip,
or I am not looking in the right place for the font files. And if anybody
has a recommendation where to find a credible source for fonts, please advise.

Thanks--
Sony

Suzanne: When I open the file, all that displays is a "template" page the
shows the font in numbers and the alphabet. A display or sample page,
nothing I can engage.

What did you expect to see? A font is a binary file, not a Word document.
Displaying a sample page is the default Open action for fonts. The proper
way to use fonts is to install them in the Windows Fonts folder; they will
then become available from the font list in Word and other Windows
applications.

Open the Windows Fonts folder (Start | Settings | Control Panel | Fonts). On
the File menu, select Install New Font. Navigate to the folder where the
unzipped font files are stored and select them. Click Install. This is
really not a Word, but rather a Windows question.
