Installing Office 2007 B2TR

C

ChrisCS

Hi, can anyone help with this, please?

I have been trying to install the Office 2007 beta 2 TR but keep getting the
message "Insufficient Disc Space". My original installation of the beta 2 is
on drive D: where there are around 10 Gb of spare space and the instructions
for B2TR say that it requires 2 Gb for installation, so there is room for it
despite the error message.

I am wondering if the TR is looking on C: where there is only about 1.5 Gb
spare space even though Office 2007 is on D: If this is the case, how can I
make it install on D: Or is this a case of "Microsoft knows best" and it
has to be installed on C:

Hi Chris,

It's the Windows drive that generally is the one that requires the 2GB of space. That's not particularly prominent in this article
the way it's written.

If you are trying to increase space use the Disk Cleanup tool and Add/Remove Programs. Do not remove the \Windows\Installer or
\MSOCache folders (they hold a lot of stuff but things break when they're tampered with).

The \Windows\Installer folder is where the reusable patches and updates are stored and generally where your temp folder is. You may
be able to gain space by setting your %temp% and Internet Explorer cache locations to point to the D:\ drive.

Hi Bob,
Many thanks for your help. I made some extra space on my C: drive and have
now installed B2TR without any problems

Chris
