Installing second version of Office 2007

We have the 2007 Office Home and Student version installed on my computer.
Unfortunately because it doesn't have Access, my son, who needs it for his
A-levels, has just bought the 2007 Office Professional Plus 2007. It doesn't
seem to want to start installing on his computer, which is fairly old and
gronky, but if I install it on mine, am I going to have a problem with it
overwriting whats already there? I don't want to lose everything I've done.

Many thanks

Thanks for your reply.

Do I need to uninstall Office Home and Student before I install Office Pro
Plus? And if I do, does this means that I've used one of my licences?
Sorry to be so dim.

You will not lose any of your Office files that is already there. It is always best practice to back them up just in case. If you have purchased a full retail version of Office 2007 Pro Plus then it would be much better to remove the previous Office version and install the full retail version of Office by itself. If it is an Upgrade version of the new Office 2007 Pro Plus then there is no need to uninstall the previous version that is now residing in your computer

Which is in DIRECT contradiction to what you said in the thread we have
been arguing in. Have you finally realised your mistake?

This is an Upgrade situation and NOT a downgrade situation is the other thread. I stand by what I posted on the other thread when it came to the downgrade.

Well, I bit the bullet, backed everything up, uninstalled Office Home &
Student, installed Office Pro Plus and everything is where is should be as
far as I can see and we now have Access 2007. Thanks so much for all your
help.
