Installing Service Pack 1

P

Pete Q

I have the 2002 version of Office xp for students and
teachers.

I was going to download Service Pack 1 and noticied that
this included updates to some MS Office applications that
did not come with the version of Office XP that I own
(such as Access and Frontpage).

Is there any issue with downloading the entire service
pack even though it includes updates to programs that I
don't have on my machine?

Where do these updates go if there is no program on my
machine? I wasn't sure if the updates actually end up
getting installed or if the system knows I don't have
these programs and the updates are ignored and not really
installed on my machine.

The only things that get actually patched are the ones that are installed.
You do not need to worry about which version you have or if you have
installed only some of the components.

You had probably better install Service Pack 2 also...
