Internet Explorer

My internet explorer recently quit working. I tried re-installing it from
the Office CD. I tried downloading it from Microsoft's website. When I
re-install, I get an error message saying, "a previous installation has
pending work requiring a reboot. You need to restart your computer to
complete that instalation before running Internet Explorer Setup. Setup will
now close." When I reboot and try to reinstall, I get the same error
message. Can you guide me?

What operating system?
What version of IE do you have? (Exactly, if you can find out in
IE-Help-About, depending on what "quit working" means)

IE6/OE6 newsgroups.

Dear Alan,

Thank you for your reply. You are kind to help me.

The version is 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp_sp_sp2_gd.050301-1519. It opens but does
not connect to the web. It suggests hitting refresh but that does not work.

Kind regards,
Paul
