Office 2007 Enterprise keeps configuring

P

PaulZ

Every time I start Word I get a (setup-)window with the message that
Microsoft Office Enterprise 2007 is configuring. This takes a few minutes,
after that an Installer window quickly appears, closes and Word starts
normally.
I tried several suggestions found on the internet (resetting registry
authosirations, Microsoft Installer Cleanup etc), uninstalled Office 2007,
reboot, reïnstall etc...
But nothing helps and the error keeps on coming.
Last resource was renaming setup.exe in C:\Program Files\Common
Files\microsoft shared\OFFICE12\Office Setup Controller. Now only the
installer window shortly pops up... But that's no solution! What can I do
more???

For Office Enterprise issues see the following. Support on this version is only
available from MS or your IT Department and we cannot help you here with the Office
Enterprise version.

Sorry but we do not know if it is Pirated or not. You should have gotten these
instructions as above on your Home Program purchase from your Company

The support for Office 2007 Enterprise is free and look and open

Sorry, last link does not work.
My copy of Office is entirely legal! I have it on a CD with 3D marks etc.
etc. from my company, but they could not help me any further. Thought
Microsoft could help me, but with that page, I am in the swamps again...

I had exactly the same problem and renaming the setup file worked for me -
and I don't get any installer window appearing.

That tool says it shouldn't be used for Office 2007. So, did you remove
Office, run the tool, then install again?
