Is anyone having problems sharing Word v. X(mac) and Word 2003 fi.

I am copying a file out of FileMaker Pro 6 and pasting it into a Word v.X
file and sending it to a person with Word 2003 which they cannont open. Now,
this same person used to be able to open the file in a previous version of
Office. Is v.X and 2003 now not compatible. Do I need to upgrade to V. 2004
for mac?
