Is there a way to get Office updates on CD-ROM?

I only have a dial-up connection, and there are 47MB of updates. I could
download it with a friend's fast connection and burn a CD-ROM, but I can't
figure out how to get a stand-alone update. Aren't there any reasonable
options for dial-up users?

I recommend that you register you wish with Microsoft and explain that there are
many people who are still on dial-up.

Contact Microsoft: Use MSWish to request features, report problems, etc.

It's possible that you can request a CD from Microsoft, but I'm not sure of how
long it would take to get or whether there would be a charge. In your case
having a cooperative friend would be the best solution.
