Is there going to be a new version of Office?

I currently have Office XP Pro and I am considering upgrading to the latest
version of Office. From what I found Office 2003 is the latest version.
However, can anyone tell me if Microsoft has plans to release a new version?
I don't want to pay to upgrade to Office 2003 only to find out that a new
version is going to be available in a few months. Any reply is much
appreciated. Thanks.

Go to

Get version 2.0 and do yourself a favor. Get out of this nightmarish
pay-upgrade-pay again-upgrade cycle.

Just my good deed for the day.
