ISAM missing

Due to a failed disk drive I've had to reinstall all my software and data
files including VB6 & Office 2003. Now I get a message "Couldn't find
installable ISAM" even though I've made sure that ISAM is clicked in the Data
Sources tab during setup, and it seems to install. Prior to the disk problem
I was able to use VB6 with and earlier version of Office. Reinstalls haven't
helped -- what other steps would you recommend?

Thanks for the help. However, there are enough differences that I'm still
unsure what to do. For instance, my error message was 425, not the 429 in
your example - my problem is with ISAM not DAO (or is ISAM one of the DAOs?)
If I am to run RegSvr I need to locate the "proper" ISAM DLL which I have not
been able to do. It sounds like we're on the right track, but not quite there
yet!

Well, apparently the MDAC driver is for a different version of Windows than
the XP Home SP2 that I'm running. Message says MDAC 2.8 RTM is incompatible
with "this version of Windows". (I had high hopes when I gave this a try!)

Jk,

As stated by Doug there are a couple of versions around. I hope the one Doug
pointed out to you does the trick for you.

I have been out of town for a few days, but I appreciate your help!

In following Doug's suggestion (to download MDAC) I get the message that
"MDAC 2.8 RTM is incompatible with this version of Windows. All of its
features are part of Windows." My version of XP is the Home version 2002 SP2.

Well, I can finally end this thread! The problem wasn't that ISAM was bad as
the error message stated, it was due to the Access upgrade. Once I changed
the database name in the VB code to "Access" rather than the defaulted value
of "Access 2000" things worked.
