I would like to be able to send status requests for issues and risks that
require updating just like it can be done for tasks and integrate the issues
and risks with outlook; any suggestions please

Project doesn't have any built-in risk/issue management features. But
the custom fields might serve this function. There are numberous
custom text fields, along with Notes fields associated with each task.
You might have to get a bit creative, but you could probably get
something that serves your needs this way. If it needs to be
automated, you'll probably need some VBA macros to make that happen.

There are also many add-on software packages that enhance the features
of Project. I haven't looked recently, but there used to be several
Risk Managment add-ons for Project. A google search should find them,
if they're still around.

Hope this helps in your world.

Thanks for the response. It seems Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0 has
workflow features and I will be looking at those. There is also a product
called BrightWork Issue Management that might fit the requirements.
