ISYNC vrs ACTIVE SYNC

Hello,
I don't use an Iphone. I use T-Mobile's version of a blackberry phone. Before I bought my new imac computer i used to sync my phone and information with active sync by microsoft. I have tried to sync my phone with entourage through bluetooth and i have not been able to do so. I had made sure that both my imac and my phone are visible. The both see each other, but can't sync.

My question is, can I install isync on my phone and replace my active sync software, or is there other way to sync my phone's calendar to my imac, specially with entourage.

Thank you.

p.s. I would also like to find out if there is a way for entourage not to show any of my old emails without logging in, my computer is used by others in my office, and anyone can click cancel when asked for password and still look at my entire inbox.

Thanks again.

I guess you cold, but I sure have never tested that before (I don't have
a blackberry)

That's by design. MacOS X is a multi-user operating System. The idea is
that multiple users are not supposed to be sharing the same account.
Everybody should have his own account on the Mac. The other people in
your Office should not have access to your session at all, they should
have to log into their own session (where your Entourage account will
not be accessible to them),

I've never heard of iSync for anything other than Mac OS X. I don't
think a version is available for phones or other mobile devices.

A Blackberry will require third party software if you want to connect
your phone to your computer and sync that way. Mark/Space makes
"Misssing Sync for Blackberry"
<http://www.markspace.com/missingsync_blackberry.php>. I'm not a user so
I can not tell you how well it works. IIRC, they offered a trial
download but it's very difficult to find. Contact their sales department
and make the request before purchasing.

If you're not already connecting to an Exchange Server then you may want
to look into a hosting service with a monthly plan. You may find the
price is worth the ease and reliability of syncing via ActiveSync
wirelessly.

Hope this helps!

I use iSync all the time with my Sony Ericcson phone.
iSync supports a wide range of Bluetooth capable phones (and a few USB
ones)

But you're not running it on your phone like ActiveSync. ;-)

Of course, but I'm running it to sync my Mac and my phone.

The OP asked "can I install isync on my phone and replace my active sync
software" and you responded, "I guess you could..."

I was addressing the fact that no version of iSync is made to run on a
phone but only on Mac OS X. (I'm referring to physically installing it
on a phone.)
