Jokerman font default???What is it??

wikg

I have a document which originally has Jokerman font. Our new computers at
work have changed the font to something else but it is still saying it is
Jokerman. However on my computer at home, the font in this document shows up
as the original Jokerman font. I like the new font and would like to know
what it is.
I am not sure what mywork is running but at home I am running 2003.
Can anyone help me please?

Obviously your new computers don't have Jokerman and have substituted
something else. I'm sure there's some easy way to find out what it is but I
would just open the font choice list in Word and see which one looks like
the one you're seeing. (Or get a macro to run a sample of all of the fonts,
which is nice to have if you're a fontaholic like me.)

As documents in Word can be edited/reviewed by a number of people but who may not have all of the fonts the original author had,
Windows determines what font to substitute (using internal rules) to retain the layout of the document when a font is missing. It
retains the name of the original font so that if you add that font to the system or reroute the document to the original author
things return to their original 'planned' usage.

You didn't mention the version of Word you're using, but to see the font substitution (and, if you choose, to have Word make the
susbtitution permanent and take out the old named/missing font as well)

- for versions prior to Word 2007:
Tools=>Options=>Compatibility=>[Font Substitution]

- for Word 2007
Office Button=>Word Options=>Advanced
Scroll down to 'Show document content'
then click there [Font Substitution...] button
