jpg files have top & left side border?

Is there a way to save jpg files in publisher without getting a border along
the top & left side?

This has been a problem off and on for other folks. Can you use the crop tool
and crop the lines away? Can you take the image into an editing program and
erase the line? What happens if you reduce the resolution when you save the
picture or use a different format. .png might be a better choice.

Hi Mary,
I tried the .png format & the lines still appear. Aside from Microsoft
paint, I don't have any other editing software that I can use to erase the
line. Paint does work, but the resolution is compromised. What I'm doing is
creating stuff in publisher & then placing it on my website. For pricing
tables, I can live with the line by forcing the table to the left & upper
extremes of the publication & reducing the page size to be just slightly
bigger than the table itself. Is there anywhere in publisher that the
default page settings can be adjusted? Even with a blank publication, the
left & top lines appear when saved in a .png, .jpg, .bmp extension.

Hi Mary,
Thanks for the reply. The .png format still results in lines at the top &
left. I have Microsoft paint which I can use to get rid of the lines, but
the resolution is compromised. Is there a way in publisher to change the
default page format? Even blank publications saved as .jpg; .bmp; .png; etc,
result in the lines appearing.

Hi Mary,
I am currently running the 2002 version of publisher. Saving it as a .tif
still produces the lines. I wasn't able to save it as an .eps or a .ps.
When trying to save as a .ps, its telling me "there are no PostScript
printers installed. To choose this command you must first install a
PostScript printer. Press F1 for more information." I did this & installed a
postscript printer per the instructions. Following this I can save the file
as a .ps, but cannot open the saved file. Is there a step that I am missing?

thanks
