PPT 2000

Dose anybody know of a way to keep the text in a text box without th
text bleeding out of the box?

If text does bleed out of the box then it is not shown.
OR
Text that bleeds out is hidden.

Any hep will be appreciated.

Ward wrap is off.
Resize auto shape is off

Hi MikeWild or is it Wild Mike?

If you don't want to check the Word Wrap and AutoSize Text box (which
will take care of this automatically), then change the size of your
fonts by clicking anywhere in the text box, hit the ESC key to select
the whole box, then click on Format, Font, and change the font to a
size that fits within the text box.

That is not going to stop the text from moving out of it's text box.

Problem is:
f you put a lot of text into the same box it spills out of its bo
boundries. I want to limit the text to the text box boundrie

Are you creating a template that others are going to edit and you want
to limit the amount of text they can put in a text box?

Yes in a manner of speaking.

I want the text box to be a certain size, and who ever types text int
it can only type to the limit of the text box

Hi Mike,

Sorry, you can't do that except maybe with VB code. Since I'm V
challenged I can't help you with it. Sorry.

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello Mike,

| I want the text box to be a certain size, and who ever types text into
it can only type to the limit of the text box.
|

What do you want the user experience to be when they reach the limit of the
text box?

a) All text in box gets smaller in order to keep the text within the
boundaries of the text box, or
b) User is unable to enter any more text into the text box.

In either case, PowerPoint does not provide this particular functionality
in PowerPoint 2000. In PowerPoint 2002 and 2003 there are autofit settings
"Autofit <title/body> text to placeholder" which gives experience (a) above
for text entered into either Title or Body text placeholders (but it does
not affect text boxes, only placeholders <from slide autolayouts>).

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that it's important that
PowerPoint provide this kind of functionality, don't forget to send your
feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
