Key Behavior

Chris

In all the Microsoft Office applications I've ever used, Ctrl-Home took me to
the first page, first row, first record, etc.; Ctrl-End took me to the last.
I just installed my new Office 2000, and it ain't working that way any more.
Can't find the answer.

In Word, click on Tools | Options | View | uncheck the two boxes for
WordPerfect help and navigation | OK.

Hey There. The aforementioned boxes are already unchecked. It might help to
know that the problem seems to effect Word, Excel, and Access.

Humm, works as advertised in Office 2003. Have you tried some of the
other CTRl+ shortcuts? Mayhaps the CTRL key is duff?

Knowing which applications you are referring to is helpful
information. :)

In Access, is the field cell selected or is your insertion point
flashing in the field? If so then press F2 to select the field and
Ctrl + Home and Ctrl + End should work

In Excel, if you are in edit mode, insertion point is flashing in the
cell, then press ESC to get out of edit mode.

If that isn't the case then what do the key combinations do instead?

First, I'd neglected to thank anyone; therefore, thank you all for trying to
help. I've given myself a sound whack in the head for being rude. (Ouch....)

Second, "Bob I" was right: My the CTRL was indeed "duff" (only the left CTRL
key; the right one works fine, and I'm left handed.) I've given myself a
second sound whack in the head for being stupid.

Glad it's solved, hope the bumps go down quickly!
