Key Words

Hello

OS: Windows XP SP3
App: MSAccess 2003

I would like to browse a paragraph of text using VBA and identify search
words (nouns, verbs etc.). The results would be the basis for creating some
search words.

Example paragraph: "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The quick
brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy
dog. The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog. The quick brown fox jumps
over the lazy dog."

Search words: quick, brown, fox, jumps, lazy, dog etc.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Kind Regards
Mike Faulkner

Mike,
Typically, paragraphs like that aren't stored in an Access Database, so
where are these paragraphs going to be?

SQL Server has a Full Text Search feature that might be the kind of thing
you're after. With SQL 2008 it's included in the free Express with Advanced
Services edition. I don't think it would be simple to add this kind of
capability to an Access db.

Thank you for replying to my Posting.

The paragraph I posted was an example piece of text. Product descriptions
can contain hundreds/thousands of words. Identifying and extracting key words
in a description is my current challenge.

The MS Access Memo field is well suited for holding such text.

Regards
Mike
