Using Microsoft 2003 - on my laptop's keyboard, K has got a 2 at the top of
the key and when I type K, it types 2 - how do I change this please?

There very likely is a number lock key or key combination that is toggled
on, which causes a set of keys to work as a number pad. There probably is a
light indicator as well that shows when that number lock toggle is turned
on. Without knowing what kind of laptop you have, I couldn't begin to tell
you where to look for it... but look for something labeled (perhaps) Num
Lock.

Thanks for that - you were right - but I had to plug in a keyboard! The
NUMLOCK had been on when the keyboard was being used with the laptop and
stayed on after the laptop was disconnected - All is well now - thanks again

Your laptop probably has a toggle, too... but they're sometimes disguised or
otherwise hard to locate unless it's a feature you use frequently.

Glad it's all sorted.
