keypad problem

Version: 2004 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel When I try to enter numbers from my Microsoft Wireless Comfort Keyboard 5000 into an Excel spread sheet, the keypad acts like it is operating as a mouse. No numbers, just 4 moves left, 6 moves right etc.

Same problem if I use a Mac keyboard. Computer is MacBook Pro on Snow Leopard operating.

Numbers enter properly in all other applications, MS Word, text edit and so on. It's only a problem with this computer. Is this a Show Leopard problem?

Any work arounds?

Thanks for your help.

It sounds like you've inadvertently disengaged the NumLock - Is the dot next
to NUM in the Status Bar gray? Try keying Shift+Control+NumLock
