In the past I could use Word to search through multiple documents for a keyword or phrase with out opening each document individually. It was an Advanced Search feature under Find File. Any idea how to perform the same search in Word 2008? Thanks.

Searching for files is an OS X function available in any program's File>
Open dialog as well as in a Finder window.

If in an Open dialog, click in the Search box & type the content.

You can do the same in a Finder window but if you want more controls you can
then go to Finder's Filed> Find... Command to add options to the Finder
window Search bar.

Thanks for trying to help, but I'm still not getting the results I want. I want to search within the documents for a phrase, such as "Above her head". This is not a title, but contained with body of the text.

Use Spotlight instead.

That seems to be working. The key is to make sure the files are appended with a .doc. Many thanks!

Sorry - works for me. Just be sure you are starting the search in an
appropriate location & it doesn't like certain symbol characters (such as
apostrophes).
