Last Saved Date

I am trying to put some kind of a text box on the title page of a ppt
presentation that updates to the last saved date of that presentation.
That is, when the presentation is updated and saved, I want the new
saved date to appear. I'd be ok putting this on the title master or
actually on an individual slide. Also, I am using PPT 2000. Your help
is appreciated in advance.

PowerPoint won't do that automatically, but the last modified date and the last
accessed date are both saved in the file properties. If you go to File >
Properties and click on the Statistics tab you'll find them. You could then
enter that date in your text box. Unfortunately you will have to manually
update it.
