Latest version of Office Pro

Can someone tell me when the next version of MS Office is expected to come
out? I need to by Office Pro in order to have Access and Power Point. I
currently have Office 2000 Standard. I'm concerned about buying Office Pro
2003 and next month 2005 or 6 comes out.

It won't be next month. Could be later this year but no dates have been
mentioned as of yet.

And it won't be that either. It's only just gone beta.

You seem to know something I haven't heard about. (Like that's a tough
thing...)

No one knows for sure at this point and even Office 12 does go into
Beta, it will depend bug fixes.

But popular opinion in the tech media speculate that it will coincide
with the release of Longhorn, the code name for the next version of
Windows. At the present time, tech rags put that timeline as late
2006.

Also...Microsoft generally releases coupons to allow large discounts
to those who may purchase a current version immediately prior to a new
release, so if you were to purchase software within a month of a new
version...there's no guarantee...but you'd usually be able to get a
refund/discount if you were to purchase the newer version right away.

Hope this helps...

So, Publisher is no longer part of Office then...?

Well Tick, I have no idea why you would ask that, since no one
mentioned anything about Pub versus any other part of Office. So I'll
assume you just pulled that one out of your...ahem, out of the air.
(Whoa...almost lowered myself to YOUR level!)

Of course Publisher is still part of the Office family.

So do YOU have any idea why you brought that issue up in this
thread...cos' Publisher isn't in Beta yet either.
