Leaving blank business cards

D

David D.

I am using Publisher 2000 (form Office 2000 Pro) under W2K.

I am printing I.D. cards on 8 1/2 x 11 Avery 8-card stock.

If I have only a few cards to print, I want to be able to leave blank cards,
and start printing farther down the page. That way I can use up the stock
starting at the bottom of the page, so that the top of the page is still
intact to feed into the printer.

Is there an option to do this? I have tried combinations of adding blank
rows to .XLS and .CSV data files, selecting specific rows to print, and
checking or not checking "Do not print blank rows", alas, to no avail. All
printing seems to start at the top of the page.

Don,

Thanks for your reply. I was able to set up a layout guide, using
"Arrange", but I am not sure how to copy the ID Card (which is a .pub file
with mail-merge) to a particular location on the layout. I tried copy and
paste, but I only got a blank rectangle. I tried insert object, but when I
printed, I got the file name of the object, rather than the object itself.
I can't just paste a picture, because the fields are filled from a
Mail-Merge data source.

What am I doing incorrectly?

Thanks, Don,

I think that the first time that I tried it, I thought I had selected
all, but I only got the background rectangle, which, for some reason,
misleadingly copies with the wrong fill color.

I have it working now. Thanks for your help.

Also, thanks for reminding everyone about service packs. I keep
Office up to date, and Publisher gets updated in the process.
