Whenever I press down the left shift key and keep it down without pressing
another key within one second a vertical slash symbol is inserted. This is
incredibly frustrating. If I press the left shift key and instantly press the
character I want capitolized it works fine. But if I hesitate for a second
and keep the left shift key down it will insert a string of vertical
slash/characters.

I have searched help sections and the previous posts to this Discussion
Group and can find nothing that fixes it or even addresses it.
Thanks, I have just about lost my mind. It has been doing this since I
bought the computer and installed Word, Office Professional 2003 a few months
ago, but I can not live this way any longer.
