Line drawing

Hi,
I am trying to draw some line schematics using word 2003. I have done this
in the past using a different pc.
When I draw a line vertical and then draw a horizontal line and then try to
position the two together I cant get them to join perpendicular to each
other, the steps when I am moving them are to big. The same as if I draw a
line and then make a circle and try to place the circle over the line it will
go each side of the line but not right on it. Now I know there is a setting
that will change that, but cant work out where... is it a tick box setting or
a size of movment setting?? can anyone help please... Thanks in advance
Dave.

Pressing Alt while dragging objects overrides the grid and "snap to" and
allows you to place them precisely.

If you are using 2003 turn off the grid and when you draw the lines hold the
shift key down - it should snap to the nearest 15 degrees. Hold the shift key
down and use the arrow keys to nudge your objects into place
