Line Thickness

Why can I not choose a line thickness that does not print less than 1pt in thickness? The menu shows I can and have selected 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4pt but print-out gives a lne thickness that matches that when 1pt is selected. Above 1pt and the increase in line thickness is clearly visible. Any ideas how I can receive 'what I ordered'?

The most likely cause is that the printer driver isn't current. Check the
mfr's site for an updated driver for using your model with Leopard.

Hi,

When printing, look in the Print dialog box for Printer Features.

Many printers come from the factory set at "low" print quality so they
print fast. Try adjusting that setting to "highest" quality and see if
that fixes the problem.

if it does, back the setting down to as low as you need to keep the line
the way you like it but keep the speed of the printer fast.

See the other answers from Jim and Bob, but FWIW, this is a problem on the Windows
version of PPT as well. As I recall, it's a bug in PPT there, not a driver problem.

Hi,

I was able to reproduce the original posting's problem using my printer.

It is indeed a PowerPoint bug. The proof of the pudding is that when the
presentation is on-screen, the display of thinner lines is visible. But
when looked at in Print Preview it can be seen that the line thickness
for narrow lines is increased to 1pt.

When copied from PowerPoint and pasted, Word and Excel print lines
correctly, so this problem affects only PowerPoint.
