Link page to specific frame

Hi all, I hope you can help; I having a hard time finding this information.

I have a page with links on, a generic HTML page. I also have a page that
has frames on it; a header, middle, and footer. I want to click a link on
the first page Index1.htm and then have Index2.htm (the frames page) open.
In the Middle frame, I want the Rentals.htm page to be displayed rather than
the default page that loads when the frames page loads.

I hope that I am being clear enough; I also hope someone can help.
