I am trying to link the Resource Usage View to an Excel Spreadsheet. Project

Richard,
You are correct, the timescaled data is not linkable. However there are
other ways to get Project data to Excel.
The easiest method is to use the "Analyze timescale data in Excel"
utility/add-in which can be found on the "Analysis" toolbar. Different
"cuts" of the data can be obtained by exporting from the Resource Usage
and Task Usage views.
Another method is available which is similar to the above but is much
more flexible. That method does however require the use of an advanced
feature of Project, namely VBA.
You mentioned that you linked Resource Name and Work fields to Excel.
What link method did you use? I'm guessing you used a Paste Link. Be
advised that Paste Links are very fragile and can become easily
corrupted. A much better method for exporting the static data
(non-timescaled) to Excel is to use an export map. Go to File/Save As
and select "Microsoft Excel Workbook" as the type. A wizard will appear
when you hit "Save" to guide you the rest of the way.
Hope this helps.
